What level should my swimmer register for?

All swimmers must be at least three years old in order to participate in swim lessons.

Level 1

• Submerge head comfortably  

• Blow bubbles with head submerged  

• Perform basic skills (floating, kicking, arm strokes) with instructor assistance 

Level 2

• Float front and back independently   

• Performs efficient kicks  

• Jump in unassisted into shallow water  

• Continued stroke development with assistance  

Level 3

• Rockets with kicks independently front and back for 10 yards  

• Beginning success with arm strokes unassisted with beginning side breathing for 10 yards 

• Comfortable with skills in deep water  

• Jump in unassisted in deep water  

Level 4

• Crawl stroke with side breather the width of the pool  

• Backstroke the width of the pool  

• Diving from side of pool  

• Beginning success with elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and dolphin kick 

Level 5

• Accurate and efficient crawl stroke, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly the length of the pool 

• Diving from block  

• Swim continuously for 10 minutes  

• Tread water one minute  

• Perform basic lifesaving skills

When Are Lessons?

Lessons will begin at 10 a.m. and end at noon.  We have class Monday through Friday (no class on July 4th). We build our schedule based on registration and instructor availability and we will email you your class time on Thursday before your session starts. 

Swim Lessons $45 members/$55 non- members

 When registering for swim lessons, first determine your swimmer's level based on the descriptions above. Then, click on tthe session link you want to register for. Finally, return back to the bottom of this page if you are paying with PayPal. If the session you would like is full, please email lessons.northwood@gmail.com to be placed on a waiting list.
